The last two paintings I’ve done have been using watercolors and mica infused mixtures. This give a radiant look to the paint when shown in the light. The first is called the Umbrella People, and is a fantasy picture. More of an illustration. You can see a glimpse of the light-capturing paints at certain points. Looks better live, where you can move around to adjust the reflecting lights.

Colorful vortex
The second picture is more of one of my doodles dolled up in color. They look better “In the Light” and on a wall. This one especially, a Vortex of Colors.
In order to better understand paints, and light, I worked on these pieces, with little attention to the theme. The cat jumping up over the cucumber in the lower pointing is an in-house bit of humor.
I really liked the way the center circle blue swirl came out. What do you think?
