I wanted to continue exploring the way of drawing photographic materials into a vector design project. Since the last piece, with its concentration of circles, I though I would reconfigure them to to work with symmetry, but thought otherwise — too boring this symmetry work, and getting the pieces of a complex piece put together is difficult and time consuming. So the boats of Venice that I had seen in an earlier google search filtered back through my mind, and voila!
If it were so easy to determine the subject of our dreams, then Venice, would be my night voyage tonight, but who can set his compass before sleep to travel. That would be the life for many, if they could sleep into the boats and take a turn about town. (Might put a hurt on drug dealers as well)
I once enjoyed this cartoon show my sons were watching: Futurama. The main character, Fry, orders a robotic clone of some girl he lusts after, and spends his time frolicing sexually. The show pointed out how senseless life would be if one could have all one desires. Having a dream, even as distant as traveling to Venice keeps one alive. The out of touch draws one forward into the reality of the desire. Having all one desires actually destroys the reality of the desire by corrupting te supporting elements.
Take for instance the daily chores of life. The tasks which one does on the job. The social interactions with all those we come in contact with. Like a famous doctor said of sensual indulgence: “What do you do the rest of the day?”
